Thesis Title
e-Learning Systems Success in an Organisational Context

Read article at Massey Research Online:

Issues around the effective implementation, management, and success of e-Learning systems have drawn many researchers鈥 attention. However, e-Learning systems success research still lacks models and frameworks addressing organisational dimensions along with instructor and learner dimensions, particularly in the New Zealand higher education context. Ms Samarasinghe investigated the dimensions of e-Learning systems success in an organisational context. The effect of organisational dimensions on other dimensions of e-Learning systems success was investigated, accounting for both instructor and learner perspectives. This study was the first to develop and test a multidimensional e-Learning systems success model that focuses on instructors. Of the organisational dimensions considered, Ms Samarasinghe found that the quality of the system was the most influential. She also found that the quality of the e-Learning development and implementation directly affected other organizational dimensions, system quality, and the quality of the institutional support provided for instructors. It also indirectly affected instructor dimensions.
