Dr Warrick Wood

Warrick is a sport and exercise psychology lecturer, based on the Albany campus.  Currently, Warrick is involved in various research projects, coordinates several courses at Massey, provides postgraduate supervision, and is contracted by High Performance Sport NZ and several other sport organisations in areas such as coach development and mental skills training.

Warrick enjoys working in a range of environments, and has worked with various professional and Olympic athletes and coaches to enhance both performance and wellbeing.

Research Expertise

Research Interests

Warrick recently completed his PhD that invovled a case study of a high-performance sports team.  The study explored athletes' experiences of their basic psychological needs within their team environment and how they perceived their coaches' contributions to such needs.
