Research Expertise

Research Interests

My research focuses on understanding the way in which the nursing contribution to primary health care and to people with long term conditions can be increased. My research has found that traditional bio medical responses to people living with chronic disease, frequently does not  support greater well being or increased ability to be self managing.

I am especially interested in the development and implementation of the Nurse Practitioner role as a workforce strategy towards greater integration of primary and secondary care and as a mechanism for increasing services to those who are underserved.
