Senior Professional Clinician in Dietetics
School of Sport, Exercise and NutritionGaralynne is a Professional Clinician at 黑料网. She leads the teaching clinics and Foodservice management paper in the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics Programme. She has worked a clinical dietitian for over 10 years across a variety of settings and with individuals from all walks of life.
Garalynne completed her dietetic training at Bastyr University in the United States. After initially working as a dietitian in a hemodialysis unit, she moved to Hawkes Bay, New Zealand in 2009 to take up a dietetic role in mental health. There, she supported children with selective eating and individuals with a variety of mental health issues. She also taught wellness cooking classes and facilitated healthy living groups for those with chronic mental health conditions. Garalynne developed an interest in eating disorder treatment and made the move to Auckland to work at Tupu Ora Eating Disorder Service at Auckland DHB. She worked with individuals across the age and diagnostic spectrum, with a focus on supporting families of children with anorexia nervosa and young women with eating disorders and co-morbid emotion regulation difficulties.
Using a holistic approach, Garalynne aims to help clients maintain and build a positive relationship with food while meeting their individual nutrition goals.
